Well the Schroeder Motorsports Team's racing season came to an end last weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals. Thursday night Curt would finish 11th in the D Main after fighting a bad vibration all night. Friday Curt would just miss qualifying to the C Main through his heat race and would end up 8th in the D Main. On Saturday Curt would start 8th in the D Main and finish 5th, one spot out of advancing to the C Main. Curt appeared early to have a fast car passing 3 cars in the first 2 laps on the low side, but then when Curt moved to the high groove his car got really tight and was not able to close and pass the 4th place car to advance.
Overall the 2013 season was pretty good!!!

Curt raced at the final Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models in Davenport on Saturday night. Unfortunately Curt would extend his season long streak of drawing bad and starting on the last row of a Deery Brothers heat. Curt would not qualify for the feature. Next up will be the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, IA this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Curt raced at Boone Speedway on September 2 for the Super Nationals Deery Brothers race, despite drawing bad and starting at the rear of the heat and not qualifying Curt would get a Series provisional and start 24th in the feature and finish 18th. Next up for the Schroeder Motorsports Team is the Deery Brothers race at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, IA.
Sunday Curt raced at the Benton County Speedway, it was a pretty rough race with lots of banging into each other but Curt would finish 3rd. This week Curt will only be racing in Oskaloosa on Wednesday night.
This past Sunday Curt picked up his second feature win of the year when he won at Stuart Speedway in Stuart, IA. Not only did he win he swept the night winning both his heat and feature and leading every lap he raced. Monday the Team headed to the Iowa State Fair Speedway for the Deery Brothers Race. Curt would start 24th in the Feature and finish 16th on a rubbered up track. Tuesday the Team headed to the Marshalltown Speedway for the Corn Belt Clash Race. Curt would be out muscled in his heat as he left the IMCA engine in, but come feature time he started 21st and worked his way up to 14th in the 50 lap main event. This week the only planned races are Sunday in Vinton and Wednesday in Oskaloosa.
This past Saturday was Season Championship at Webster City, Curt would finish 5th in the race and 6th for season points. On Sunday Curt raced at Stuart Speedway, he would start 3rd and finish 8th. It was a disappointing night as Curt had to slow up twice for cars in front of him that spun out and got passed. This weekend we plan on racing at Stuart on Sunday, the Iowa State Fair Deery Brothers race on Monday and the Corn Belt Clash race in Marshalltown on Tuesday.
This past Friday was the Season Championship at Iowa State Fair Speedway, Curt would start 4th and finish 6th in the feature. Curt would also finish 4th in season points. The weekend the Team plans on heading to Hamilton County Speedway on Saturday and Stuart Speedway on Sunday.
Friday night at the Iowa State Fair Speedway in Des Moines Curt picked up his first feature win of his racing career. Unfortunately the high from the win would quickly fade as Curt would be leading the feature Saturday night at Webster City when the car picked up a bad engine miss. Curt would shut it down and retire from the race to finish 8th. Sunday the Team headed to Stuart Speedway thinking they had the problem fixed, but once again the miss was there and Curt would wind up with a 10th place finish.
This week is Season Championships at Des Moines.
Friday night the Schroeder Motorsports team raced at Des Moines, Curt would jump out to a lead and lead all but 3 laps and finished 2nd to Ryan Griffin. Saturday Curt went to Webster City and was involved in a crash in the heat race. Curt would make repairs and start last in the feature and come in a disappointing 7th. The week the plan is Wednesday Lucas Oil Late Model Series at Webster City and then IMCA weekly racing at Des Moines, Webster City and Stuart on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
The Schroeder Motorsports Team had another busy and slightly disappointing weekend. Thursday Curt went to Denison and finished 8th. He battled having no rear brakes during the feature and felt he was a top 5 car. Friday Curt would race at Denison again. This time while running 4th in his heat he broke a driveshaft. Because of this he had to make repairs and start the feature in 12th. He managed to work his way up and finish 7th, but once again felt he was a top 5 car if he didn't have to start last. Saturday Curt raced at Webster City and a mistake in the heat race caused him to miss the invert. So he started 6th in the feature and finished 6th. This weekend we are just racing at Des Moines and Webster City.
Schroeder Motorsports once again raced 3 times this last weekend. Friday night Curt would lead a majority of the feature at Des Moines before finishing in 3rd. Saturday night while running 5th in the heat race a coil wire came off and the car shut off. Curt then started 8th in the feature and worked his way up to 5th. Sunday night Curt made his first ever appearance to the Benton County Speedway in Vinton, IA. Curt would finish 5th in his heat and start on the outside front row of the feature. Unfortunately, on the first lap Curt was spun out and had to restart in the 12th position. Curt worked his way up to 8th. The plan this weekend is to race at Denison on Thursday and Friday and then Webster City on Saturday.
Schroeder Motorsports raced 3 times this past weekend. Curt would get 7th at Oskaloosa on Wednesday, 5th at Des Moines on Friday and 7th at Webster City on Saturday. The plan this week is to race at Des Moines on Friday, Webster City on Saturday and maybe go to Vinton on Sunday.
Schroeder Motorsports had a pretty good weekend. On Thursday Curt would finish second at Eldon Speedway in Eldon, IA, Friday at Des Moines was rained out, Saturday at Webster City Curt would finish 5th and then on Sunday Curt would finish 3rd.
This week we plan on racing at Oskaloosa on Wednesday, Des Moines on Friday and Webster City on Saturday.
This weekend was pretty much a washout except Curt was able to race on Thursday at the Hamilton County Speedway for the IMCA Deery Brother Summer Series. Curt would start 8th in his heat and finish 7th. Curt would then start the feature in 20th and finish 11th. All in all it was a successful night as Curt qualified for his first Deery Brother feature and had a respectable finish.
This week is a busy week as Curt will race at Eldon on Thursday, Des Moines on Friday, Webster City on Saturday and Stuart on Sunday.
This weekend Curt and the Schroeder Motorsports Team raced at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway and Hamilton County Speedway. On Friday Curt would finish 4th at Des Moines. Curt would run 2nd and battle for the lead for approx. 6 laps until he had to check up and lost his momentum allowing Chad Cooney and Darryl DeFrance to pass him.
Then at Webster City Curt would jump out to an early lead and lead approx. 8 laps before Ryan Griffin passed him. Curt would run 2nd and with approx. 5 laps to go he caught Griffin and was attempting to pass him for the lead when Curt made contact with Griffin's left rear quarter panel causing Curt to check up and allowing Darryl DeFrance to pass both Curt and Griffin.
Planning on racing at Webster City on Tuesday night for the Deery Brothers Summer Series race.
Well this weekend was a washout. Curt would finish 4th Friday night at Des Moines after leading the first 6 or so laps. Then both Saturday at Webster City and Monday's Deery Race at Boone where both rained out. Planning on racing at Des Moines on Friday and Webster City on Saturday for this coming weekend.
Friday night Curt would race at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway. He would finish 4th in his heat and start 6th in the feature. Curt would finish the feature in 10th and find that he suffered a broken lifter which explained the lack of power the engine had during the feature. The broken lifter caused Curt to miss the Saturday night race at the Hamilton County Speedway. Curt should be back in action this weekend at Des Moines on Friday, Webster City on Saturday and then Boone on Monday for the Deery Brothers Summer Series show.
Well the IMCA racing season for the Schroeder Motorsports Team has come to an end. 2012 ended up being the best year Curt and the Schroeder Motorsports team has had:
IMCA National Points - 17th
Des Moines Points - tied for 7th
Webster City Points - 5th
Stuart Speedway Points - 5th
8 top 5 finishes
23 top 10 finishes
Up next for the Curt and the Schroeder Motorsports Team is the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.
Friday night at Des Moines was rained out, but the Team headed to Webster City on Saturday night to race. Curt would finish 3rd in his heat race and that would put him starting on the outside front row for the feature. Curt would jump out to an early lead and lead 14 laps before getting passed by Ryan Griffith. Curt would go on to finish 2nd.
Friday night Curt raced at the Iowa State Fair Speedway in Des Moines, he would run 5th in his heat race and 9th in the feature. Saturday night Curt would head to the Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City. Curt would win his heat race and start on the pole for the feature. Curt would lead a couple laps until he was passed by Craig Jacobs and Al Johnson. Curt would then run 3rd for the remainder of the race with first and second in hi sights, but he just couldn't make a moved to pass them. Curt would end up 3rd.
The last couple weeks have been pretty decent for the Schroeder Motorsports Team. Last weekend at Des Moines, Curt would lead his heat race until the last lap when he was passed by Al Johnson and settled for second. In the feature Curt would be running in the 8th position once again until the last corner when Al Johnson would pass him and relegate Curt to a 9th place finish. On Saturday night at Webster City Curt would finish 5th in his heat race and 6th in the feature. The plan for Memorial day weekend is once again to race at Des Moines and Webster City, Friday and Saturday nights, respectively.
Well the racing season has finally started and the first weekend was a pretty good one for the Schroeder Motorsports Team. Friday the Team went to the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway, Curt would win his heat race and start the feature on the outside front row. One the first lap of the feature Curt would hit a rut and bend a heim on a rearend bar making the car very tight. Curt would fight the car throughout the race and finish 6th.
On Saturday the Team went to the Hamilton County Speedway, Curt would finish 3rd in his heat race and start the feature in 4th. A nonstop 20 lap feature saw Curt finish in the 4th position. So like I said it was a pretty good opening weekend.
